Data Recovery & Destruction
Data Recovery

Data recovery is the process of salvaging data from damaged, failed, corrupted, or inaccessible secondary storage media when it cannot be accessed normally. Data can be salvaged from storage media such as hard disk drives, storage tapes, CDs, DVDs, RAID, and other electronics.
Recovery may be required due to physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system that prevents it from being mounted by the host operating system.
Data Destruction
Digital media typically holds large volumes of confidential data. If data erasure or detruction does not occur when a disk is retired, an organisation or user faces the possibility that data will be stolen and compromised, leading to identity theft, loss of corporate reputation, threats to regulatory compliance and financial implications.
Data erasure - this is a software based overwriting method that completely destroys all electronic data residing on digital media. Permanent data erasure goes beyond basic file deletion commands which only remove direct pointers to data disk sectors and make data recovery possible.
Data is erased to HMG Infosec and CESG approved standards using Blancco Data Cleaner which wipes all data from digital media ro confidential, restricted, secret and top secret level.
Physical media destruction - this method involves the physical destruction of assets shredded to not more than 6mm pieces according to HMG compliant destruction standards. Other methods available include hard drive degaussing and physical destruction of the platter array, rendering the hard drive free for shredding and recycling. These processes leave no possibility of any data retrieval.
A certificate is provided for all assets and data destroyed.
